Speech #22
At the meeting
As we know and as we can see, a very tense situation has once again arisen around our country, which could push our entire region to the brink of explosion. We could speak endlessly about these events, but since today is March 21—the first day of spring—I have decided to speak about the truth, and what significance it holds for us and, more broadly, for our movement. It is no secret that the first day of spring was also New Year’s Day in the ancient Armenian calendar. For this reason, I believe today is a very fitting day to speak about truth, because just as the first day of spring symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, so too does truth symbolize light in this dark world filled with lies.
Our movement, of course, is fundamentally unlike any political force operating in Armenia, and I am confident that those who have been following us for several years—or even several months—will agree with me. We are different not only because we are completely independent and have no ties to this treacherous system made up of former and current actors, but also because we founded our movement on pure Armenian nationalist ideas, and for us, the important thing is not political correctness, but the truth. On every critical domestic and foreign issue concerning our nation, we take a nationalist stance and speak the truth without hesitation, because we consider it our duty, as lying has never been part of the Armenian Aryan essence and never can be.
In these days, as we approach the circus-like and disgraceful upcoming elections, the treachery operating in our political field becomes more apparent, and the lies of various political sellouts become more unbearable. They symbolize the darkness that has engulfed our entire country. Yet we have decided to speak the truth, because we consider ourselves not merely politicians, but also knights of truth. Today, when politics often turns into a game of self-interest, we need a new kind of knighthood, so that the politician acts not as a temporary opportunist, but as a soldier of eternity—guided not by personal desire, but by national ideas, by our Tseghakron faith.
The knight of truth is not only a political fighter but also a guardian of our sacred Aryan value system. He stands as a bridge between the nation and the state, guaranteeing that authority will serve the interests of the homeland and statehood with full dignity. True knighthood begins where selfishness ends. And when our politicians recognize their responsibilities and are guided by true knighthood, their politics will become a force not of division, but of unity.
We live in an era where lies are everywhere, and where, sadly, lying has become normal. Lying has become so accepted that we are led to believe that a politician must be a liar. And when a politician appears who begins to speak only the truth, he is considered “strange,” “extreme,” or “unserious.” This shows how far our society, especially the political field, is from truth and justice.
These lies keep us trapped in illusion, and the only way to dispel that illusion is to speak the truth fearlessly. We, as a nationalist political movement operating entirely outside this anti-national neo-Bolshevik system and opposing it fully, are obliged to speak the truth. Moreover, speaking the truth is not only our duty, but a virtue, which opens the path to justice and greatness. We consider ourselves revolutionaries because, in this age of lies, speaking the truth is truly a revolutionary act.
In today’s Armenia, many are asleep, living in comfort or absorbed in daily concerns. They are easily fed falsehoods because the truth is painful, and they have learned to avoid pain. But a national movement that seeks real victory and true rebirth must not follow the slumbering masses. It must rise and be built on one thing alone: the truth.
Without truth, there is no strength; without strength, there is no unity; and without unity, there is no salvation. A movement that avoids the truth to please the people or take the easy path may gather crowds, but it will never build a nation. Today they may applaud, but tomorrow that applause will become betrayal. Throughout our recent history, we have seen many examples of this: political sellouts who gave empty promises, nurturing false hopes while ignoring the truth, leading us to disgraceful defeat and, now, toward universal destruction.
Truth is the foundation of every genuine nationalist movement. It shows who we are, where we come from, and what we must become. It exposes lies and demands discipline and sacrifice. This is why people often reject it—but it is precisely why it is necessary. Some may say, “But the people don’t want truth right now.” Let them say it. We are not here to please the people or make false promises. We are here to awaken them and show the true and eternal path.
Truth is a weapon that shatters illusions and strengthens the nation’s soul for future trials. Only a movement grounded in truth will stand firm when others collapse in the face of a coming great crisis, because lies reign during illusion, and when illusion is pierced, truth emerges victorious. I find it necessary here to quote Nzhdeh’s precise words: "Truth will discipline the brave and the honorable. Defeat, slavery, suffering—these are the fates of peoples who succumb to falsehood. Truth, on the contrary, strengthens and saves, making nations victorious. The first is a sorrowful symptom of disorder in souls. The second, let us repeat with the wise, is the greatest divinity that nature has revealed to humanity and endowed it with the greatest power. The foundation of the individual and collective living in truth is set in rock; that which gropes in falsehood is set on sand."
In the short term, falsehood may seem safe, but in the long term, it is deadly. A false movement can never bring real prosperity. An independent, united, and strong Armenia can be born only on the foundation of truth—spoken boldly, lived with discipline, and defended with passion and indomitable will. Let others chase comfort. Let others lie to gather fleeting followers. We choose truth and walk the only true path, because we know that without it we cannot build a powerful national movement, and without that powerful movement, there can be no salvation for our Fatherland and independent statehood.
Many who follow us will surely wonder why, with our limited resources, we continue our political activity, since our success may seem “impossible” to the majority at this moment. This is fully understandable, yet I believe that a small movement founded on a strong will and truth will achieve greater long-term success than large, hollow, and fraudulent movements built on lies and money.
I believe this because speaking the truth is not only a duty and a virtue, as I have already mentioned, but also contains hidden strength, which many underestimate, thinking that truth and politics need not be connected. But this is, in fact, a mistaken approach that leads to the destruction of any political movement. A political movement built on lies is like a marriage built on deceit. Therefore, an honest and serious political figure—especially a political leader—who wishes to show his people the right path must not only value truth but make it a necessity, regardless of how bitter, unaccepted, or politically incorrect that truth may be at the moment.
Truth—and the true path in general—exists only in one form, just as in mathematics there may be many wrong answers but only one correct answer. I deeply believe that the path our movement follows is that one true path—the only eternal path—because for us, truth is the highest value. I have emphasized before, and I will emphasize again, that there is no other way but ours: there is only one true and eternal path, and that is the path of “Hosank.” I believe in it so much that I continue on this path in my life, without any “Plan B,” sacrificing my career and dedicating myself solely to politics. Even if I tried, I could not do anything else. Without such faith and willingness to take risks, we could never bring truth to victory.
When I returned from the war and founded our movement, I promised myself that I would preach only the truth, trying to unite Armenian nationalists around that truth, no matter how difficult that task might be or how immense the responsibility. I told myself that even if there were only a one percent chance of success, I would take that step, because apart from the path of truth, all other paths lead to destruction.
Ultimately, we are in this struggle because, apart from being nationalists, we cannot be anything else, and apart from fighting, we can do nothing else. From this perspective, skepticism and all doubts vanish for us. That is why we must continue our struggle, without regard for how slow or fast our progress may be, or how long it will take to achieve success.
We do what we must, because no one else will, and we walk this true and eternal path, because no one else will walk it for us, nor can they. We are not merely building a political movement; we are, by making history, an important part of the process of eternity—a process that, in the long term, will bring development to our nation, prosperity to our Fatherland, and glorious victory to our state.
We will advance our truthful movement, because instead of complaining about the darkness, we have decided to light a single candle and awaken hope and faith for our future among our compatriots in these difficult and uncertain times, raising the fighting spirit of our entire nation, because that is the only path to victory, salvation, and rebirth.
