It often happens that different people write to me...

It often happens that different people write to me or leave comments saying things like, “You won’t accomplish anything with rallys and speeches like these; do something,” or some other similarly stupid thing, as if they themselves are people who actually “get things done.” They love talking big online about “taking action,” while they themselves have not lifted a finger and have done nothing but support various traitors left and right. Instead of setting a personal example and showing everyone through their own actions what it means to “get things done,” they have the audacity to criticize and attack those who are trying to do something, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem at the moment. Such people simply lack self-awareness and are completely devoid of farsightedness, because they can't see past their own noses.

And when you ask them what kind of long-term plan should actually be pursued during these temporary times of peace and stability, they say, “We don't have time for that.” The absurdity is that they were telling me the exact same thing about five years ago, when I had only just founded our movement, and even six years after the war they continue to mindlessly repeat it while doing nothing themselves. Instead of making proper use of this very important period, they occupy themselves with nothing but empty complaining and sitting around on the couch. According to them, we never have time, and therefore there is no point in doing anything.

Like impatient children, they think in terms of quickly “taking action” and believe that by immediately doing some kind of “action,” everything will be solved quickly and simply fall into place. They do not understand the depth and seriousness of the problem, and therefore they do not understand its solution either, because if they truly understood the problem, they would not keep saying such idiotic things. They try to portray themselves as people who “get things done,” but in reality they are simply making excuses for their laziness, inactivity, incompetence and, yes, their cowardice as well.

Nevertheless, we pay no attention to short-sighted empty talkers like them, because the dogs bark while the caravan moves forward. We do not make baseless calls like they do, nor do we live on empty hopes, because unlike them, we are not detached from reality and we understand what needs to be done.

It is very clear to us that, in times like these, truly “getting things done” means organizing ourselves, planting ideas, gaining recognition, earning trust by spreading the truth, and through all of this attempting to bring the small, conscious minority of our nation under the banner of our eternity—turning them into members, supporters, sympathizers or followers.

No one can divert us from this one true path, because we understand very clearly that if we truly desire and dream of decisively and steadfastly advancing our national political struggle and, at the right historical moment, ultimately bringing it to victory—building a national state and creating a Tseghakron Armenia—then we cannot, precisely in these days, abandon consistent, dedicated, and organized action.

We are shaped in the shadows, forged by struggle and called by destiny.

“Let us learn and put into practice certain saving truths. Let us revive those supreme forces in the soul of our race, so that we may not perish as a nation.” — Nzhdeh
