Speech #4
At First Congress
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
On the very first day of this year, in honor of the birthday of our prophetic commander Garegin Nzhdeh, we held our first rally and publicly presented ourselves to the community for the first time, at almost the time when Artsakh had entirely been ethnically cleansed of Armenians. Until then, the majority of our nation had never heard of our movement, and various anti-national media outlets dominating our country, along with their affiliated analysts, took advantage of the opportunity to discredit and tarnish our newly established young political movement by distorting facts and deliberately misrepresenting us. A similar approach was taken by various representatives of the international media, who are intent on suppressing any expression of national resistance. Due to this misrepresentation, our first rally turned into what could be called a "scandal," not only in our Fatherland but also abroad. However, in my opinion, no matter how much various internal or external media outlets tried to discredit us, they ultimately failed. This is because the majority of our nation, as well as representatives of other European nations, eventually expressed their support and sympathy toward us.
Afterward, we made some slight changes to our public image, and a few months later, we held two more rallies outside the city. However, this time, instead of discrediting us, the media completely ignored and disregarded us. I believe those who are somewhat involved in politics would not be surprised by either their outcry or their silence.
These reactions were expected because it’s clear as day that they wouldn’t just sit back and watch as a genuine national political movement forms and develops in Armenia. At first, they will try either to condemn or to silence it into oblivion. In reality, their accusations and condemnations directed at us ended up doing us a favor by proving that we are indeed on the right path.
However, aside from them, there were also numerous decent compatriots with somewhat sober minds who never truly understood who we are and what we represent. Such people also did not understand why, exactly one year after returning from the war, on this very day three years ago, I decided to single-handedly, without any assistance and with limited resources, establish and lead a new national political movement from scratch instead of joining any of the existing movements.
At first glance, this may seem like nonsense or madness to many, as it appears to be a completely illogical phenomenon in their view, especially when we are fully aware of the countless challenges ahead of us. Nevertheless, this is also a good indicator for us, because, as the brilliant Armenian poet Paruyr Sevak once said, "When there is no solution left, it is the ‘madmen’ who find a way."
We all, especially after the 44-day treacherous war, witnessed numerous fake opposition movements, whose leaders claimed they wanted to bring about a change of power, while ironically adopting the same unpatriotic mindset of the authorities and maintaining the same defeatist status quo, which led to our defeat in the war and the complete loss of Artsakh, which was liberated by the blood of our fathers.
It turns out that this so-called "opposition," together with the authorities, whether intentionally or unintentionally, completely disillusioned our fellow compatriots with both the army and politics, and as we recently saw, even with the church. In doing so, they simply poured salt on an already opened wound, thus only strengthening the positions of the current government members and further despairing our people.
They only temporarily unite through fake "patriotic" calls and hatred towards one person, expressing simplistic chants and blocking streets, not understanding that all of this is a recipe for failure and can never give long-term success. By doing such things, they also distract people and drain the justified anger that has built up within them.
We also saw many other unpatriotic opportunistic politicians who wanted to exploit these situations solely to advance their personal interests. However, it is noteworthy that the majority of our fellow compatriots participating in these protests and chaos have good and noble intentions, but unfortunately, they are being used as a tool.
This is, of course, not new. Our fellow compatriots have shown such short-sighted approaches over the past 33 years, starting from the very first day of the restoration of our independence. The ironic thing is that people like them, who consider us to be "extreme" ideologues, view us as crazy, not realizing that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results. By constantly doing the same things, our society has further degraded, bringing people's level of thinking to a point lower than the gutter.
In the minds of most people, there is still one important question: how do we remove this government, as if doing so would immediately solve all our problems. It is important to emphasize one key point: we cannot make a change of power if we do not first make a change of opposition, and we cannot have a real opposition if we keep doing the same things that those useless opposition groups are doing.
We are obliged to adopt a completely different, new, and farsighted approach if we truly want to solve the issues of our Fatherland and not merely occupy seats in the National Assembly. The current and former authorities are not the root cause of our country's problems but rather symptoms of that illness. To cure this illness, we must focus not on eliminating the symptoms but on addressing the root cause itself.
These external issues or illnesses I mentioned are, in fact, reflections of our internal problems, and we cannot solve these external issues without addressing the internal ones. Nor can we solve the internal problems if we do not thoroughly understand what they truly entail. These issues are much deeper than people realize, but by understanding them well, we will also clearly see the solution: a revolution in national consciousness. Through this revolution, a fighting spirit will awaken within us, and Armenia will be reborn. Only in this way can we uproot the mentality of begging, servility, and spiritual weakness from within ourselves.
We also cannot halt the alarming external threats facing our Fatherland if we do not neutralize the internal dangers that harm it. Our recent defeat and the loss of Artsakh did not happen in a single day; they were the result of years of mistakes and detrimental foreign policies, because we lacked a national consciousness and a national mindset, which are essential for making decisions beneficial to the nation and conducting national diplomacy on the international arena.
As I already mentioned, over the past 33 years—especially since 2018—we have witnessed how such shortsighted approaches have brought disaster upon our country and will continue to do so if we remain trapped in this nation-destroying cycle, where we unknowingly keep supporting the same master under different masks.
Those different masks are funded by various, or often the same, networks of agencies, oligarchs, and sects, whose goal is to confuse, mislead, divide, and pit our nation against itself. In reality, they all serve the same nation-destroying system and agenda. Together, they seem to have created a dome of illusion and are doing everything possible to prevent a genuine national force from entering the political arena.
In any case, it should be noted that this phenomenon is not unique to our nation but is widespread in almost all countries, especially in so-called "democratic" ones. In this modern world, built on falsehoods, ideologies like feminism, liberalism, neo-Bolshevism, and other similar anti-national values are prevalent, which contradict our Armenian-Aryan culture and essence. Every conscious person can clearly see that the current political and social system dominating the civilized world fails to provide security, meaning, and happiness to its citizens.
The majority of our nation, especially the conscious part, cannot tolerate—some even view with disgust—what is happening to our society and country. This phenomenon repels us in the same way ugliness repels us, while beauty inspires us. Deep down, we know that things should not be this way, even if we cannot explain why we know.
In truth, that is why we have gathered here tonight—because we instinctively know that our civilization, especially Armenia, should not be like this. Without fully understanding it, we simply know that it is possible to create a more noble and majestic world. We are certain that this house of cards will collapse, whether we want it to or not, and we are obligated to build an entirely new, humane, and just world upon its ruins.
When we tell many people that, with our limited resources, we aim to become a significant force in the political arena and eventually come to power through lawful means, they say—or think—that it is impossible, that it is absurd, because we would be competing with major political forces that currently have a hundred times, or perhaps much more, the resources we do. They believe that if our movement lacks significant resources at the moment, it is therefore doomed to fail.
However, they fail to consider a very important fact: we possess something far more crucial for achieving long-term success than having abundant resources at the moment. That is a solid ideology and unwavering dedication, which are far greater assets and which the political forces with astronomical resources lack.
A newly-formed youth movement, which has a solid ideological foundation, can, over time, acquire resources by waging a consistent and relentless struggle, and through that, it can grow and develop. However, we cannot say that the opposite is true. An ideologically empty movement with abundant resources will never be able to "acquire" a great ideology, no matter how much its resources and supporters grow.
That is why such movements, as the last 30 years of our country's history have shown, are not only doomed to failure but also to destruction. Therefore, from now on, when you hear about a newly-formed movement, instead of focusing on its resources, pay attention to the ideology of that movement and the determination and dedication of its leader and members. Only from that can you know whether the movement can truly benefit the nation in the future or not. Only from that will it be clear whether the movement has a future—one that will truly make history—or if it will simply be discarded into the trash bin of history.
Some will say that we are right, but "we don’t have the time for that." However, the years pass, and those who say these words do nothing, creating the impression that they are merely saying all this to justify their laziness and weakness.
None of us are fortune tellers, and we cannot say with certainty how much time we have or don’t have, but one thing we can state for sure is that we cannot bypass the path of organized struggle, because all of history’s powerful and victorious movements have been the result of an organized struggle.
“Hosank” was not founded carelessly for a temporary purpose, to deceive its fellow citizens and come to power by giving false hopes, as we see with other reckless and meaningless political organizations. Nor was it founded with the intent of waving a flag and making meaningless and empty patriotic calls. If you have come here looking for an easy solution, then I apologize for wasting your time, but I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would never make false promises to my fellow countrymen. We say what needs to be heard, not what they want to hear. We also understand well that speaking the truth is not only a virtue but also a crucial weapon for fighting our enemies and uniting our nation in the right direction.
There are two types of people in this life. The first sees the present world as a dark place where no light can shine, and the second sees the present world as a dark place, but one where light can shine much more easily and illuminate the darkness. Our movement attracts and is interested in the second type—those optimistic individuals who, instead of complaining about the darkness, will light a small candle.
However, we understand that our fellow countrymen, after being constantly deceived, no longer want anything to do with politics and have begun to live like ostriches, because they no longer know what to believe. Most people trust no one and like no one, and we cannot blame them, because political prostitutes change their masks more often than their socks, and mice live longer than the fake movements they create.
However, being disappointed about the Fatherland cannot be an excuse for shirking our duty and remaining merely as spectators. If decent citizens do not roll up their sleeves and engage in politics, it will be the rootless scoundrels who will engage in that field and lead our state toward the abyss.
We are obliged to accept personal responsibility and do something, even if the chances of success are very slim. We have decided to take action, because the losses resulting from taking action cannot surpass those caused by doing nothing. Our future generations must look back centuries later and know that in these hopeless times, there were honorable Armenians who did not despair or bow down, who continued to fight despite all circumstances. We must send a message to the future that, in this age of lies, there were noble people who stood on the right side of history.
The seeds of all the suffering and chaos whose fruits we are reaping today were sown long ago. We realize that everything done to keep us divided over the centuries will face a powerful reaction, because the third law of mechanics tells us that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
The reaction to this division is precisely “Hosank”—united movement of particles—which is the prerequisite for order. Without “Hosank”, there can be no unity or political and social agreement. No matter how much our enemies wish it, they will not be able to divide us if we have a unifying ideological movement among us. That is why, more than ever, our nation needs this unifying current.
If the intellectuals of the nation are set on the right ideological path, the rest of the people will follow, and unity will happen naturally. The mission of our movement – “Hosank”, is to place our nation on that correct path. If we do not have the same will as a nation, we cannot create the current necessary for our national unity. In our struggle, our will must reflect the collective will of our nation. Therefore, one of our main slogans is: "One Nation, One State, One Will."
Of course, in addition to discussing ideas, it is also important to talk about more practical and vital issues, which we will address in our future conferences. But allow me to emphasize once again how necessary it is to first build a strong ideological and spiritual foundation for our political activity and struggle, to create a solid core, if we want to have any hope or chance to carry our struggle to victory. A spiritual foundation is vital for our political struggle. We cannot ignore this, nor can we bypass this difficult path. The lack of ideology is the reason our people are constantly being pulled in different directions and manipulated, because if you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.
We are like a group of explorers that has lost its compass and, wandering in the forest, has deviated from the right path. As a result, it cannot find its home or its destination, not knowing where it is going or why it continues on its journey. However, thanks to the Creator, 100 years ago Garegin Nzhdeh, together with Hayk Asatryan, gave us that compass, that torch, by which we can find the right path and reach our goal. That is why “Hosank” takes the liberty to take up the torch passed by Nzhdeh and revive Tseghakronism in the 21st-century political arena—as the only means to save the Armenian people.
We have been given a great ideology, and our goal is to give international recognition to this idea. Our mission is to transform this idea into a world movement. The right path has been shown to us, but it is up to us to decide whether to walk down that path or not. As self-aware and responsible individuals, we must accept the duty of walking this path—for the sake of our heroic ancestors and for the sake of our future generations.
Our long-term approach is necessary, absolutely necessary, and unavoidable. The short-sighted approaches that, as I have already mentioned, our fellow countrymen tried to adopt for decades before us, such as regime change or eliminating corruption, cannot solve the fundamental issues we face. They cannot give us back our souls. It may sound ironic that we need to plan to conquer and revolutionize not only our country but the entire world, that we need to plan all of this for the sake of universal truth and eternity, when those with much more resources than us have failed to achieve much more limited goals, such as removing the incompetent from government or raising wages. But we must acknowledge that it was the simplistic thinking and short-sightedness of those working toward such limited goals that has been the cause of their failure.
It is the rooting of our plans in eternity that gives us confidence and hope in our final victory, regardless of how much time, work, and sacrifice it will require from us. Therefore, I assert once again: our approach is not just a matter of choice, it is an absolute necessity. There is no other way but ours; there is only one path—the eternal and victorious path, which is the path of “Hosank”.
That path is the path of divine creation, striving for new heights like the Aryan race, a path we must walk with our determined will. No one else, no other nation, can walk this path for us. Only we, with the full devotion of our spirit, can walk this path if we wish to reach the destiny that the Creator has prepared for us. A glorious destiny, one that we cannot even imagine at this moment.
This is, of course, a heavy and enormous responsibility, and if we were mere mortals living for the present, we would not be able to bear it. But we know that we can bear it, and we will bear it, because we also know that we are more than that. We understand this because we carry the flag of eternity and act for eternity. By acting for that eternity, we ourselves become a part of it.
Every nation has critical and pivotal moments in its history, and we believe that the Armenian nation is living through its most critical, yet also its most pivotal time. Many believe that we no longer have the chance to become strong once again, and that it is futile even to try or do anything. However, we believe that as long as the Armenian nation breathes, it can rise again, if it still has the iron will to do so. Armenians with their might have repeatedly shown the world that when they’re united and rely solely on themselves, they become invincible.
If our dream is not just a vague ambition, if we are absolutely determined to make it a reality, then nothing can stop us. We understand that, for now, the soul of our race is temporarily asleep, but this will not last long. Sooner or later, the soul of our race will awaken, and it will make the whole world tremble. We are convinced that our late Commander Vazgen Sargsyan also believed in this when he said, "The 21st century will, without a doubt, be ours."
We do not hide our desire to come to power, but our struggle is not solely for the purpose of gaining power, as we see in almost every other political movement. In general, we cannot believe or trust any political figure or movement whose only ideology is regime change, and whose only goal is to come to power. Our movement, like our ideas and symbols, is immortal, and carrying such ideas and an invincible flag, in this struggle we have not gazed our sights on the next year, the next election, or even the next decade, but rather on eternity.
The outcome of this fateful struggle will lead to only two possible outcomes: either our enemies will pass over our bodies, or we will pass over theirs. Everything comes full circle. Vahagn will slay the dragon, Hayk will defeat Bel. It is time, instead of turning the last page of our history, to open a new page in golden letters, once again assuming the role of the nation leading righteousness and justice. Our struggle must prevail if we want our race to not lose their place under the Sun.
All of our negotiations and decisions must take this into account. Our entire culture, science, thoughts, actions, and steps must serve the purpose of strengthening the nation; this is the imperative of the New Era. These are prerequisites and a necessity to create a healthy and progressive society, a society made up of citizens who accept personal responsibilities, recognize duties, work hard, and who are noble, healthy, pure-blooded, and honorable. We must create a completely new man, a new state, a new society, a new civilization, and the seeds of that glorious future must be planted now, and these seeds must be watered every day with our struggle.
A time must come in Armenia when we will no longer only be proud of our past. A time will come when we will truly begin to be proud of our present as well, because through our work, our struggle, and our sacrifices, we will create a state and a country worthy of pride.
We believe that Armenia will once again become the cradle of the rebirth of civilization and the salvation of humanity. We believe that Armenia will once again become the important junction of the civilizational paths connecting the West and the East, the North and the South. We believe that Armenia must become one of the strongest countries not only in this region but also in the entire world, with which everyone will be forced to take to account.
From the Armenian Highlands, we can spread light with a single matchstick, igniting the spark of the coming Aryan millennium, which will spread like wildfire to other Aryan nations. From our plateau, energy will spread to obliterate the obstacles to the spiritual development of the world. This energy will be carried by those indomitable, determined individuals who will be inspired by the examples of our great ancestors. We believe in this sacred historical mission, which the Creator of the Universe has entrusted to us Armenians. In reality, "Hosank" represents a very dangerous idea for modern Babylon: a truly independent and strong Armenia. We cannot abandon this idea, no matter how many obstacles are placed in our path. We must, as a nation, be mentally prepared to crush all of it in turn and neutralize all attacks directed against us. Our goal is great, our challenges countless, because we must accomplish the impossible, and to do that, we must use the most powerful weapons in our arsenal: loyalty, determination, courage, and hard work. However, if these weapons are not enough, we will compensate with our willpower.
Thus, no matter how unimaginable it may seem now, the realization of this dream of creating an independent and strong Armenia must still be our primary vision and ultimate goal, from which we have no right to deviate, because our purpose is the Creator's purpose, and our struggle is the struggle to fulfill the will of the Creator. There is a dream, that is Greater Armenia, and it must be realized.
