Since childhood—when other kids, and later my classmates, dreamed about nice cars and luxurious houses—I, as a patriotic Armenian from the diaspora, dreamed of becoming a freedom fighter for Armenia. Just as our freedom fighters liberated Artsakh, I too wanted to take part in the liberation of Nakhichevan.
Five years ago today, the war unleashed against Armenia by our enemies gave me that opportunity. But sadly, the cowardice and betrayal that took place behind our backs temporarily held back the realization of that dream. In any case, no matter how much the neo-Bolsheviks try to inject their defeatism and preach their false “peace,” they will never be able to uproot the dream of building a Greater Armenia from me and those like me.
They thought this war could kill the spirit of our struggle, erase that dream, and turn the last page of our history. But they have no idea that in trying to do so, they are actually provoking the opposite—because from that very moment begins the story of a new and nobler struggle, new and greater dreams, and a more glorious future. They thought it would be the end of the Armenian nation—without realizing that, in fact, they were unintentionally laying the foundations of its rebirth. What does not kill us only makes us stronger...
